YOGA & MEDITATION
We will practice yoga two times a day. Depending on the weather conditions, we will practice either inside a Moroccan tent designated for yoga classes, or on one of the porches of the villa overlooking the surrounding mountains.
The overall theme of the retreat is exploring inner landscapes. Just as one might explore diverse terrains in the external world, delving into inner landscapes involves a deep exploration of one's thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and experiences. We will dive into our inner worlds through practices of yoga and meditation. Marija teaches Hatha yoga, focusing on mindful movement, body awareness, and proper alignment rather than on achieving specific postures. The primary aim of these classes is to better understand your body and the underlying principles of yoga and meditation practice. Apart from asana (posture), we practice pranayama (breathing) and meditation in each class. The classes are organized as workshops, during which we will explore the different physical, mental and spiritual aspects of the practice. To read more about Marija and her teaching style, click here. The retreat is suitable for all levels. Beginners will have the chance to get a taste of yoga and build a strong foundation for their yogic journey. More experienced yogis will deepen their understanding and get some inspiration to further develop their practice. |
PROGRAM
We usually start our morning with an invigorating yoga class, which is 90 minutes long. After the class, we will enjoy a well-deserved fresh, delicious brunch. After yoga and food, we set out for one of our daily outings through Andalusia.
* Exploring Andalusian villages - We will visit a couple of charming and incredibly scenic traditional Andalusian villages, Cómpeta and Frigiliana, to enjoy the charm of the white washed allies and savor local delicacies. * Daytrip to Nerja - We will dedicate and entire afternoon to this beautiful town on the coast. Nerja is famous not only for the charm of its architecture, but also for stunning Nerja Caves, beautiful beaches and spectacular Maro waterfall. In Nerja, an afternoon is best spent savoring the town's coastal beauty, cultural gems, and culinary delights. * Walking El Caminito del Rey - This is a breathtaking and thrilling walkway suspended along the steep walls of the Gaitanes Gorge, offering awe-inspiring views of the gorge and surrounding landscapes. * Hiking - Sierra de Tejada offers a network of trails, showcasing picturesque mountain scenery, deep valleys, and the opportunity to explore the diverse flora and fauna of this natural haven right in front of our doorsteps. * Visit to a local winery - The region's winemaking tradition, influenced by its unique climate and terrain, invites visitors to explore vineyards, cellars, and tasting rooms. We finish the daily activities with another hour-long yoga class, followed by a mouth-watering dinner. It is also possible to organize a group two-nights trip to Granada to visit Alhambra before or after the retreat. If you are interested, please write us an email. |

The villa is isolated from the rest of the village, offering full privacy to its inhabitants. It features seven beautifully decorated en-suite rooms, cozy indoor and outdoor common spaces, a swimming pool, an outdoor jacuzzi and a big Moroccan tent intended for yoga classes. The property is only 45min away from Malaga airport. |
